Your Home Altar or Home Gurdwara
Sat Nam!
During these times of COVID-19 and quarantine, many of us have been spending more time at home than in the past. Many Gurdwaras have been closed around the world, and the ones that are open are often operating with more limited hours and more restrictions. So creating a sacred space for Naad, prayer and meditation at home, whether it is a home Gurdwara or a sacred altar, is more important than ever before.
Creating this space in our homes encourages us to make time to move away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and connect to the Guru and the Divine - whether it is for hours or even just a few minutes each day.
We have created this photo contest so that Sikh Dharma community members around the world can share these beautiful and sacred spaces in their homes, in the hope that it can inspire others to create a home Gurdwara or altar in their own homes!
The top-rated photos will be awarded prizes from the Sikh Dharma International marketplace! Each of the contestants that submits a top-three photo in the contest will be able to pick ONE of the eight prize options from the list below, which will be mailed to the contestant by SDI free of charge:

An Altar or Gurdwara is such a personal space, it doens't feel right or good to me to have a favorite. I appreciate the idea of showing others' altars, just not to vote, to compare....
Appreciate your sentiment, Carla. Thank you for sharing. The intention was just to engage and connect with each other in a fun way. Hopefully this won't be taken too seriously and we can have some fun while still holding the spirit of honoring and appreciating the grace and reverence that everyone brings to their sacred space. Love and Blessings!
Fun is welcome π€ while respecting your feelings Carlaβ£οΈ I really enjoyed seeing all of our effort to represent HE SHE IT on our altar and the multiple way it shows π
