Rooted in the HeartLands Photo Contest

Capturing the landscapes, people, and nature that ground us.

HeartLands Conservancy invited photographers of all ages and experience levels to help tell the story of Southern Illinois through images. From sweeping prairies and quiet wetlands and woods to family farms and everyday moments outdoors, the incredible images shared in this contest celebrate the places and people that make our region home.

Thank you to everyone who participated in submitting photos and voting for our People's Choice Award winning images.
