Cultural Connection
SNC Shareholders and Descendants are invited to share photos that showcase how you connect with your Inupiaq culture. With Shareholders spread across different regions, we are eager to see the various ways you stay in touch with your heritage. These images will work to tell a story of the enduring legacy of our people and the values instilled in us. Through your lens, we hope to see the beauty and richness of our culture and heritage.
Cultural Connection:
Maybe you stay connected to your culture by having traditional art displayed in your home, expressing your culture through singing or dancing, enjoying traditional foods, wearing traditional clothing or jewelry, or sharing stories passed down from your ancestors. The possibilities are endless, and we look forward to seeing how you enrich your lives by incorporating our culture.
Some of us are the first generation to revitalize or practice these traditions, and this is definitely worth celebrating! Regardless of how involved you are now or how far you may have moved, it does not change where your roots are from – Sitnasuaq.
To participate, please submit photos through this “Cultural Connection” submission portal.
*Please note: this site is most user-friendly with a cell phone/smartphone, but participants can also use a tablet or laptop/desktop to submit their photos.
Please include the following details for each photo submitted:
-Month and Year when the photo(s) were taken, if possible
-Location of the photo(s), if possible
-Shareholders and/or Descendants in the photo(s)
Photo Requirements:
· Label photos by “Last Name, First Name _ Photo Name”. Example: “Doe, John_Berry Picking”
· Photos must be 300 dots per inch or 300 DPI for optimal visual quality
Deadline: Photos must be submitted before 5:00 PM on November 21, 2025, to be eligible for prize(s).
Additional Information:
- For those using a laptop or desktop, you will find the scroll bar within the grey submission field and not on the far right of the screen, where it usually is located.
- Descendants should also include in the photo description which Shareholder they are related to. *This will help our team with the verification process to be eligible for prize(s).
- Photos submitted may be featured in online and print marketing such as SNC’s corporate website at snc.org, social media platforms, SNC’s Quarterly Venture Newsletter, SNC Messengers, as well as materials for SNC’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders, and more.
Participants may submit as many photos as they wish, including family historical photos. At the close of the photo submission, there will be three winners, drawn at random. Winners will receive $50.
