Experiences Photo Contest - 2024-2025

Capture and share your "resume-building" experience from this past academic year/summer. This contest is open to active UVM students who gained 75+ hours of hands-on, beyond-the-classroom, experience between Sept 2024 - Aug 2025. One submission per person. Your fellow students will vote on the best photos and winners will be eligible for some fabulous prizes. 

To Enter:

• upload an image no larger than 50 MB
• Image Title: give your photo a title that helps capture your experience
• Subtitle: enter the organization & location where you worked (e.g., Humane Society, Burlington, VT).
• Creator: Enter your name and your job title (e.g., Rally Cat, Summer Intern)
• Email: We need this so we can contact winners 
• Description: Tell us about what you did and 1 key takeaway from your experience (as if you were describing your experience to a future employer.) Be sure to Include LOCATION, TYPE OF EXPERIENCE (internship, service learning, etc). # of HOURS, DATES.
• Tell us about what you did and 1 key takeaway from your experience. (Not a novel, but a complete paragraph as if you were describing your experience to a future employer.)

Description:

This was the fourth dive of the day near the “elbow” of Turneffe Atoll. Descending from the surface to about 70 feet to examine the mooring network placed along the barrier reef. This photo exemplifies the beauty of diving and all of the unknown of the ocean. This experience has allowed me to see and experience firsthand conservation and sustainability work in Marine Protected Areas. My love for the ocean grew as I lived and worked on it daily. I was able to see Belizeans' passion and love for the world around them, and that was further instilled into me
