JETAA Wellington is excited to announce the shortlisted finalists from this year’s photo contest!

These finalists now stand a chance to win some fantastic prizes. So, make sure to browse these wonderful photos from Japan and cast a vote for your favourite.

This year’s theme:

🍡 Colourful Japan 🍡

From the fleeting pink of sakura blossoms to the neon glow of Tokyo streets, everyday life in Japan is set to a backdrop of vibrant colour. Add to the spectrum with your own shot of colourful Japan!

How to Vote:

For this year’s contest, you have one vote (“star”). To vote, there are three main steps:

1. To vote for a finalist photo, “star” your favourite entry. 
2. Enter your email address when prompted.
3. To confirm your vote, follow the instructions sent to your email address*. 

Please make sure to complete these steps to register your vote. Once your vote is confirmed, your voting is complete!

Winners will be announced via our Facebook page and Instagram page, and at our JETAA booth at Hutt Japan Day.

• All votes are anonymous and no voter personal data will be stored by JETAA Wellington or on PollUnit.
• Make sure to check your Spam/Junk Folder for the vote confirmation email.

Contest details:

1. Entries open 1 September 2025 and close 21 September 2025. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
2. Photo entries will be shortlisted by a selection committee. The selection committee includes the JETAA Wellington Committee and the Japanese Information and Culture Centre Wellington.
3. Successful shortlisted entrants will be contacted 3 October 2025.
4. Public voting on shortlisted photos opens 13 October 2025 and closes 11:59pm, 3 November 2025.
5. Winners will be announced on 9 November 2025 at Hutt Japan Day and via social media.

Prizes:

First place: General Public - $100 voucher of your choice*, a framed print of your winning photo delivered to you, and your photo displayed at the Japan Information and Culture Centre in Wellington.

Runner Up: General Public - $50 voucher of your choice*

First place: JET Alumni - $100 voucher of your choice*, a framed print of your winning photo delivered to you, and your photo displayed at the Japan Information and Culture Centre in Wellington.

Runner up: JET Alumni - $50 voucher of your choice*
