JUDGES' SITE: "Nature's Dynamic Palette" Photo Show

Theme and Categories

A natural subject that highlights an aspect of ‘Nature’s Dynamic Palette.’

• Shadow & Light (interesting shadows and silhouettes, unique object lighting, sunlight rays, bokeh effect)
• Water & Reflection (lakes, raindrops, reflections in water, ice)
• Color & Contrast (scenes with vivid and contrasting colors, flower gardens or arrangements)

Judging

• Judges will assess entries across six (6) categories on a scale of 1-7, with 7 being Exceptional
• Scores will be averaged across judges by photo

Judging Categories

1. Conformance (5%): Entry meets base requirements and conforms to core theme
2. Interpretation of Category or Theme (10%): Entry is illustrative of the category in which it was entered
3. Composition/Arrangement (25%): Entry reflect object arranged in a meaningful, pleasing manner use the best angle or otherwise interesting perspective?
4. Artistry/Creativity (25%): Elements brought together to show creative thought or original idea portrayed in the image, which may also be shown from a non-traditional point of view or perspective
5. Technical (25%): Thoughtful attention to proper exposure, white balance and depth of field
6. Impact (10%): Effectiveness of visual communication between photographer and viewer and overall appeal of photo
