MICRO FEILDS
Water has historically coexisted alongside art. As a symbol of life, giving, and renewal, water continues to reveal the wisdom of past cultures. This workshop aims to integrate our knowledge of the historical representation of water in art and design with active observations of colour and sound to create an aesthetic and conceptual timepiece involving signs and symbols of water.
Our observation of water involves an interactive exploration that will help shape a deeper understanding of water use in ancient civilizations (Egypt and Mesopotamia) and art and design pieces today. This creative process is where we hope to pair science and technology with art and design. Through this application, we will actively engage our observation and conceptual skills to further this important conversation that bridges art and science.
Our approach is hands-on. A simple method of staining using food dye and reduction methods helped us produce the primary image that we transformed using Lunapic and handheld phones for this workshop.
