The 2024 FOCUS45 Amateur Photography Contest

Returning for 2024, The Sunset Project presents its third annual FOCUS45 Amateur Photography Contest! This year's contest provides Northeast Michigan area photographers with the opportunity to showcase their work to win thousands of dollars worth of gear and other prizes!

The 2024 FOCUS45 Amateur Photography Contest Theme is “Through the Lens: Telling Northeast Michigan’s Story, ” taking inspiration from the deep beauty, history, and stories that make up the region.

The Public Voting Process

Beginning Friday, November 1st at 12:00 PM, members of the general public will be able to cast "like" votes for their favorite submissions, with a limit of 7 "like" votes per person. The public voting period will close on Monday, November 4th at 12:00 PM.

Finalist Selections

Upon completion of the public voting period, the top 7 submissions (based in part on the number of public "like" votes) will be invited to a private award ceremony located at Art in the Loft in Alpena, Michigan. There, a panel of 5 judges consisting of industry professionals and community members will come together and assign prize placements based on specific predetermined criteria.
