We have a photo contest that is supposed to be anonymous at the point of entry (one entry per person). We have received feedback from someone who entered:
"After submitting my photo to the competition, I received notifications of others who have posted, along with their names"
Names should not be visible to anyone except admins. Other entries should ideally not be visible until voting starts either, but that's slightly lower priority.
Can you look at this with some urgency, it might have a big impact on our currently running competition.
Also please note that 'Notify participants about new photos/comments' is turned off
Hi Steve,
We are fixing the issue, that participants see details about the photos in the email.
Has the "Notify participants about new photos/comments" been turned off from the beginning? The owner of the poll will still receive those notifications.
We also planned to show images only to other participants after the voting started, but this is not yet ready.
Thank you for the notice!
Philipp
Yes, this setting has been turned off from the beginning.
I'm happy to keep receiving notifications as the Owner of the poll, I think that makes sense.
I am not 100% sure whether it was in an email, or a dialog within the website. I will find out for you. I only have a screenshot that shows the 'We have updates for you' and information on previous entrants.
Thanks for the quick response.
Further info from our original reporter:
"This page came up once I clicked on the notification in the top right corner (see below: ‘bell’ and it had the number ‘2’ next to it, I presume meaning 2 alerts)."
I can't attach images, but clearly it was from the notifications icon within the website, not an email.
Hi Steve,
the issue should be fixed now.
Kind regards
Philipp
