The sides of wide aspect ratio images are sometimes truncated when the comment window is opened. Typically when reviewing images for judging one likes to keep the comment window open and may not realize that the full image is not being displayed. Can the image be resized as necessary to fit into the display window area when the comment window is open.
What’s happening here is related to the responsive behavior of the lightbox. Once the available width drops below a certain breakpoint (for example when the comment panel is open on narrower screens), the image is no longer scaled down to fit the layout. This can result in parts of the image being cropped.
At the moment, a practical workaround is to use the browser’s zoom feature. If the judge zooms out slightly, the breakpoint may no longer be reached and the full image will be displayed correctly, even with the comment window open.
That said, this is useful feedback, and we’ll keep it in mind when evaluating future improvements to the lightbox behavior.
