Apologize to return again on this issue.
We suffer the use of cookies and randomly available browsers and devices. Most users have multiple devices and lose even on the same device there earlier submitted photo and/or their earlier given votes.
Is there any way possible to avoid any cookie and registrations on the client side?
Suggested process (to be used in "Request email confirmation"?)
I'm aware this might not be topsecure, but will allow all users to use any device and any cookie-cleaners available. Currently we find no current flow in PollUnit to avoid any cookie.
Why do you want to avoid a registration? The registration process works very similiar but it is only necessary once.
We also offer a registration with a Google or Facebook account. Here you just need to press a button.
If a user would authenticate like your flow we would still need cookies to remember and identify the user from one requests to the next.
Thx Markus for your very quick respons!
My request is about avoiding any cookies at all. When a user identifies with it's emailadress over and over I don't see the need for cookies. You need to use any photo in combination with the emailadress as tag.
The use of google or facebook needs additional tooling usage, what will be rejected by a part of our audience.
Maybe it's not possible using PollUnit for our purpose: allowing particpants with whatever device while rejecting/cleaning cookies.
Unfortunately, it is technically very difficult, if not impossible, to implement a solution like PollUnit without using cookies or similar technologies. Cookies or equivalent mechanisms (such as storing session information in the browser’s local storage) are necessary to maintain a user's session across different pages.
Even if a user identifies themselves with their email address, the system needs to store this information throughout the session to know that the user is already authenticated. Without cookies or similar technology, the user would have to re-enter their email address for every action, which would not be practical.
Thx, Markus, we leave it for now and will instruct our participants about this functional needs.
Thx for your quick support!
