By organizing an embedded photo contest on our website some users want to upload a photo, but ends up in a frozen state on their iphone without succeeding to upload. Sometimes my ipad also ends op in a frozen state using pollunit. Is there any setting to be advised for users of apple devices to avoid this behaviour? As organizer of a photo contest for me it's impossible to know which browsers or devices will be used by the user. I would like to inform them on general required settings before participating in a contest.
Any help on this, as for now I couldn't find in on your site?
Thx!
Hi,
we are going to investigate this with IOS devices in the next weeks. We will be a bit limited because of holidays.
But we will let you know about the outcome.
Kind regards
Philipp

Hi Jan,
Sorry, we forgot to reply here, but at the time we identified some issues with iOS devices and fixed them.
Do you still have problems?
Kind regards
Philipp
Hi Philipp, investigated the current issues, but did not get a clear vision on the problems. Sometimes iOS got black pictures, sometimes they did not find their own submissions.
Is ther a clear overview if PollUnit is using cookies and what needs to be done on a client side to handle this properly in case of returning in the photo contest pollunit?
Thx for your support!
Thank you for your reply!
In iframes safari does not allow to use cookies or local storage. Therefore we cannot resume a session as reliable as with cookies. We use a cached javascript to identify the user, but if the cached record gets lost, the session is also gone.
As we mentioned in another forum thread: the use of embeddings should be improved also for iOS devices with Safari.
