Hello,
I want to create an activity that will be "fresh" every time. Can I create a poll that is a "master" and after every activity, all the answers will be erased?
For example, I want to build activities for a few classes with the "collect ideas" board. I want to create the board one time, and every teacher that will use it will receive an "empty" board for his/her class?
Is that possible?
You could create an Idea Board and name it something like "Master Idea Board". This board can then be cloned via the context menu (three dots). If you create this master within an organization all members of this organization can use this master for a clone.
Hi Markus,
Thank you for the answer!
In this case that you are offering, the teacher will have to clone it actively before every use?
Yes, you actively clone it every time and get a new board.
As admin you can of course clear all voters and options from the existing one and use it again. But I think cloning is the safer and faster way.
Does cloning have disadvantages for you? And if so, what are they?

My problem is that I need to give it to the teachers as a product. Meaning, I am giving them a PDF with the lesson plan, so I need to find a tool that pressing on a link will give the teacher a "clean" board, and I don't know when they will fill it. I can't actively clone a board every single time.
Do you have any advice?
Are you using our Organizations? The idea would be that you create that master and the teacher triggers the clone functionality. So you only need to create the master. Do you think that is too complicated for the teachers?
What doesn't work yet, but might be a good feature, is the ability to save PollUnits as a preset. Then the organization members could use the presets of the organization so we can map the permission to that preset. So the teachers still need to be part of that organization.
Would that help you? Then I would discuss this.

I'm not using it yet, because I'm looking for the right tool now.
If I will use your idea, will teachers need to have an account? I will need to have all their emails?

That can be awesome!

Yes, you need to invite them to your organization by email. You need to add the teachers to your organization because:
- we need to authenticate the teachers
- we need to check if they are allowed to use your master
- you can share one PollUnit plan with members instead of buying multiple plans
Another question. What would you change in the basic settings of an idea collection? You don't need an account to create a standard idea collection.
