Is it possible to use animated gifs in a photo contest?

I tried to use an aninated Gif in a photo contest but it seems it's being transformed directly in jpg. Is there a way to actually have animated gif in an photo contest?

Yes, you are right. At the moment we process all images to jpeg. But it is an interesting idea to allow animated gifs in a photo competition. My colleague has already roughly experimented with this. He thinks we can implement it for you.

Can you tell us a little more about what you're up to? For us it's always important to understand the use case before we finalize functions.
Should all images move, i.e. in the overview and in the large image view?

Well basically, it's a "home made" photo contest, where we put all pictures sent by people in a group about the pandemic. So some of them made animated gifs instead of pictures. Since the vote can be done through the overview, I think it should be for both overviews and large image view.
