Is there a way to create a photo voting poll where instead of just the button above the photos you can make custom fields that people have to fill out to enter a photo like this: https://www.alaskadoor.com/pages/enter-ugliest-garage-door-contest?_ab=0&key=1710394593850

because the page I have the poll on just shows a button that says "ADD PHOTO" but I cant or maybe i can make a form they have to fill out to upload that image into the contest?

When you are in the setup process you can add custom fields for submitters as well as for voters. You find the option »Request additional image uploader information « in the advanced step of the poll maker. You can change this also for existing photo contests by clicking the context menu (three dots) in the admin link and click »Edit«.

Changing the text of a button is only possible by using our custom css feature. Custom css can be created within a theme. Please take a look at our tutorial Create a Custom Theme. You find some examples at the end of the tutorial.

So we have the custom fields for the person entering the photo contest to fill out but once they fill those fields out and submit the entry, where does that information go that they filled out? Like name number and so forth?

Hi Brett,
usually this information is only visible to the admins. You can make this information publicly visible in Step 4 of the wizards by checking the corresponding checkbox next to the field.
The public information is then visible in the lightbox in the description tab.
Kind regards
Philipp

So where would I view that information from the admin area? Ideally I would like to be able to download it so that I can then upload it into an email marketing list or load into a crm. Is there a way to do that?

In the evaluation, the data collected in your polls can be accessed, processed, filtered, searched, and exported.

When you add additional fields to image submitters you find this data in the tab »Images«. If you add additional fields to voters your find this in the tab »Participants«. To go to the evaluations section you need to open the context menu (three dots) of your poll and click »Evaluation«. You also find the »Export«-Helper in this context menu which gives you various options to export your data.

Thank you for all your help. Much appreciated. Question on the comments part if we allow comments for a poll contest can we change that at anytime?

Also can we delete inappropriate comments as well.

Yes, if you edit your poll you can deactivate comments in the advanced step.
As a admin you can delete comments.

Markus, I am trying to make it so that voters can add comments to each image that has been published into the contest. When I go to click to add a comment it is only at the bottom of all images. Is there a way to make it so a voter can just add a comment to each image without being prompted to "Who Are You" pop up window that ask them to "proceed as guest" or login or sign up?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hi Brett,
unfortunately our comments require a name. Therefore the users need to be asked for their name.

Okay so I understand they require a name but aside from that is there functionality that they can can comment on just one of the images or are the comments just an overall thread for all the images?

We offer both. A general comment section beneath all the images as well as a comment section per Image. You find the Image comment section for example when clicking the comment Icon on a image.

Got it. Is there a way to turn of the general comments and just leave the option to comment per picture?

At the moment we do not offer this option.
You could use the Custom CSS feature of our themes to hide it per CSS. More info can be found in our Theme Tutorial.

Hello so our poll is live and people are entering it. My question is how do we have two winners as it may appear at the time?

PollUnit does not automatically select the winners. After the voting process, you can close your PollUnit and then designate the winner or winners. In many cases, it is advisable to select the highest-rated images as winners. Until a contest is closed, PollUnit displays a »Best« label (or in your case the »Ugliest so far«). If there are multiple entries with the exact same rating, all of these entries receive this label. The more votes you receive, the more likely you will have different ratings.
