Metadata question

Can someone tell me what determines if metadata will upload with submissions?

I see it on some submissions, and some without. I thought older phones may not have it, but I had a student try it with an iPhone12 and a Canon SLR, and neither one worked for the metadata. Is there a setting I am overlooking?

Regards,

Since the metadata is attached to the file, it is always uploaded with it. To make it visible to participants you need to check »Publish camera settings« in the step »Images«. We can only read the data if the images contain them and are also set correctly.

We use Phil Harvey's ExifTool to read this data. More info and a list of supported file types and meta information can be found here: https://exiftool.org
