New user question - allowing only one vote in a photo contest

Hi, I run a closed photo contest for my members every month. They upload one image to the contest and then when I give them the link they get one vote to pick their favourite image from all the uploads. I want to use this platform to do this as it seems great but I cannot see how to allow them to upload rather than me and how to limit to just one vote per participant. I am sure this is so easy and that I am just a new muppet! best wishes Andy

would dot voting be the solution?

Ahh ok I tried a new contest with Dot Voting 1 and Limit 1 and ticked user upload and so far my questions seem answered. i just have to find out how to prevent a user from voting for their own image and how to delay voting until all images have been uploaded - is there a way to do this?

Yes you can limit votes with dot voting. With dot voting you can create more complex voting rules. As an alternative you could also choose »Voting is allowed for one image only« in the advanced step. This is also compatible with most of our voting types. My preferred way of doing this ist a »Superlative-Voting«. This voting type is designed that their is only one best choice for the user. It may be more understandable than a Dot Voting with only one dot. This option can also be chosen as voting type in the first step of the contest creator.

To prevent users from voting for their own image you need to choose »Disallow voting of own submissions« in the »Allow image upload« section which is available in the »Advanced« step of the contest creator.

To delay voting until all images are uploaded you can manually activate voting in the »Advanced« step at any time. Alternatively you can define a voting and submission start and deadline. This can also be find in the »Advanced« step.

Thank you very much I see they all need Premium membership so I will have to look into that.
