I'm doing a photo contest where there are three categories. Each person doing the voting gets 5 dots to vote with. When I attempt to do this I get a message that Dots can not be used with categories. So, how do i do the following:
1) I have 3 categories of images DSO, Solar system, night sky
2) Each voter has a total of 5 dots they can use among the images in all categories (not 5 dots per category). However a user can give an image a max of 3 dots. They would then have two remaining dots.
After voting I should have winners in each category. If I can't use dots how can I achieve a winner in each category?
At the moment you can not combine voting categories and dot voting. I will check if we can implement this and post here when I have updates.
All our other voting types are available for categories. If you choose one of these you see a overall winner and a winner per category.
Thanks Markus. I'll check the other voting methods. I was thinking I did that last year and found the dots filled our photo contest needs. I guess if the others don't give us the type of flexibility in voting we need, I'll have to manage the categories manually and tally the votes (dots) up. I will however check back to see if there was an update to implement this feature.
Our participants and voters really enjoyed the pollunit photo contest experience last year and asked for it again this year.
We had a similar problem (I think) and solved it by making individual polls for each category. We stuck with a simple thumbs up option for each photo in the poll. But, you can def use the dots. Categories for each poll can then become criteria participants can rank. E.G. technical skill, composition, originality, etc… IF you even need such features!
