I have an idea collection poll going and I accidentally hit "begin voting". I was able to disable voting again right away in the advanced settings for the poll, but I can't see where to resume idea collection (that option is now gone for users on that poll). Have I screwed it up, or is there a way to allow idea collection again? On a related note, I was hoping to allow "up voting" on submitted ideas before closing submissions and starting voting. Can I add that without ending the idea collection phase (a different way than I did accidentally)?
If you press the »Create voting for ideas« button you can create a following up voting. This is a new PollUnit with its own admin and participation link. Imagine it as a clone of the original one but with more voting possibilities like Dot Voting. The original idea collection will be closed.
But you can reactivate the original idea collection. You need to visit the admin link and open the context menu (three dots) in the upper right corner and press »Reactivate«. In the »My PollUnits« section the original idea collection is moved to the closed PollUnits. So you need to switch the toggle on that view to the closed PollUnits.
If you disabled voting in a idea collection, you can enable it by visiting the »Edit« view through the context menu. In the advanced step you can activate voting.
Thanks. I do understand how it works normally. In this case, I still just have the active original ideas collection poll (not a clone) and not an additional voting version. However, my open idea collection poll no longer has the button that allows people to add more ideas to it. I don't see a setting that allows me to get it back.
OK, in this case you should be able to re-allow adding new ideas in the edit section (Context menu > Edit). You find the necessary settings in the advanced step.
