Is there a way for participants to easily return to the landing page from the PollUnit sub-pages? The only way I can see of navigating is using the browser's 'back' arrow… a little clunky.

We already have this on our to-do list, but it currently has a lower priority. Since the introduction of our submission category feature, landing pages are rarely needed as a workaround for categories.
As an alternative, you can create your own navigation in the description by adding links to each PollUnit. I’m aware that this requires some copying and pasting, but it can help improve the navigation experience for now.
We needed a landing page in order to enforce category level entry limits.
I added links back to the landing page on each of my category pages, they do return the user to the landing page but each time you click on it it opens a new tab. Quite soon you will have MANY tabs open.
Oh, I see. You're right! We currently do it this way to prevent the PollUnit from closing when someone clicks a link in the description, as these links usually contain additional information related to the poll. However, we could consider implementing logic that keeps the user in the same tab as long as the link doesn’t point to a different domain than pollunit.com.
I’ll create a feature request for this and keep you updated here.
