You should allow the poll creator to edit the subject line of the emails that get sent. Currently, the system says a spammy line that will likely go to spam or not get opened: "You are invited to Which book would you buy?"
I think it's not cool that you make people buy a business account just to modify the email, that is a very basic feature and ALL your users would benefit from that.
But if you guys don't want to give that feature to normal users, than you should at least modify that subject line to say: "[POLL CREATOR FIRST AND LAST NAME] has invited you to vote in their poll "POLL TITLE" Click the link inside this email to cast your vote today"
That mod is super simple, as it just pulls in the poll creator's name, but makes the email subject MUCH less spammy and MUCH more likely for someone to open it and take the poll.
This is actually already on our to-do list. However, since it has only been requested very rarely so far, it isn't scheduled yet.
There are also different expectations here, for example, some customers would like the poll creator's name in the subject, while others would prefer not to include it. So we need to find a solution that works well for most users.
I will keep you updated here.
yeah i hear you there. maybe a quick fix is to just unlock that feature (since it is not really an "enterprise" level feature like downloading a CSV or something more corporate like that)….it's just customizing the title. meaning you guys already have the feature, you can just open it to all and that problem is solved. and i don't think many enterprise users are paying the $50 a month just for that feature. know what i mean? i don't think you are going to lost revenue by making that feature open to all users.
or at the very least you can make it open to normal users who pay (like me paying monthly) you should at least open that feature up to all paying folks
I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. At the moment, the email subject can't be customized with any PollUnit plan. The subject will be generated using the title.
It's also a bit more than just making the subject editable. As soon as we introduce customization, there are many follow-up questions. Should users be able to customize only the subject, or also the sender name? What about the email content, button labels, and other texts? That's a lot of new fields in the wizard.
As a generic platform, we always try to find solutions that work well for a wide range of use cases instead of adding one-off settings.
We've even discussed the idea of making all system texts customizable, since we regularly receive requests to change individual labels, buttons, or email texts. But it's still just an idea at this point.
We'll definitely keep your feedback in mind when we revisit this topic. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!
Are you sure Markus…as this page on the invite screen makes me think it is possible 😉
i am suggesting you lower that barrier and say anyone who is paying for an account should get access to that feature 🙏
I was still thinking about the »Request Email Confirmation« feature. You're right, for invitation emails, we already support customizing the subject.
Whether it makes sense to change our plan limitations for this feature isn't something I can answer off the top of my head. We'd first need to analyze some data and evaluate the impact. That analysis also needs to be planned, so I can't promise when we'll get to it.
We'll get back to you here once we've had a chance to look into it.
