No link back to landing page and no password for the landing page itself

When I click on one of the poll units on my landing page, there is no way to get back to the landing page except for using the back button. Most website visitors expect to be provided a way to get back without using the back button. Then if you have a password set on each poll unit, you need to click the back button multiple times. It would make more sense, at least for my contests, to have a password on the landing page instead of on the poll units, and have a link to go back from the poll units to the landing page. Is there a way to accomplish this that I missed?

Actually if I press the Go Back button after uploading the photo, I had to hit the back button 4 times to return to the landing page.

A Landing Page is simply a page that forwards users to other existing PollUnits. It does not have its own authentication process. Authentication only takes place within each linked PollUnit, and each of those may use different authentication settings.

In the past, before we introduced the submission categories feature, Landing Pages were often used to link multiple photo contests together, allowing users to create something similar to categories. Now that submission categories are available within a single photo contest, Landing Pages are used far less frequently.

Could you share a bit more about your specific use case? That would help us better understand your needs.

I’ll create a feature request for this and keep you informed about any updates. Since Landing Pages are not widely used anymore, it may take some time before we can address this.

I would most definitely prefer to use submission categories. However the problem with that is that you cannot limit submissions by category. Our photo contest rules have a limit on how many photos can be submitted in each of 3 categories. That is the only reason I looked at landing pages as a possible option. I would really love it if you could add the ability to limit submissions by submission category. Landing pages have too many other issues to bother with.

Ok, I see. Using a Landing Page in this way is more of a workaround, so it will never be as smooth as working directly with submission categories. I’ll add a feature request for a submission limit per category.

I can’t say when this will make it into development, so if you need this functionality in the near term, you may need to continue using the workaround for now, since our system does not yet support per-category submission limits.
