Using Dot Voting, how does admin set it up so that once a participant has voted, they cannot log in later and make changes?
There is no "save" button or "exit".
In this case, voting is open for one week by invitation only.
In the old days, voting was by ballot and once you dropped the ballot in the box, you could not change it. This is what I am seeking. Once you vote, you cannot change. Unfortunately, I cannot find this feature under admin.
Currently, PollUnit allows participants to change their votes until the voting period ends. This is by design, so participants can update their choices if circumstances or preferences change during the voting window. At the moment, there is no option to lock a vote immediately after submission in the way a traditional paper ballot works.
Could you explain a little bit more about your use case? Then I can add this as a feature request and we’ll consider it for future updates.
The window is for individuals to vote one time and only one time. Some individuals will vote early in the window and some may be too busy so will vote later in the window; however, we believe that once a vote is cast, it should stay…just as if one was mailing in a hard copy ballot or at the polls submitting their vote.
OK, I will bring this to discussion and keep you posted here if we have any updates on this topic. This may take a while.
