I don't want users to leave any comments or read any "info" (which is silly anyway, as it currently just shows the upload time). There MUST be a setting that I am missing. As I just want users to vote and click stars, I don't want them distracted by anything else. Can someone tell me how to hide this comment + info section? I mean they let me hide and modify pretty much everything else on this poll, I would assume I can hide something so visible, and in my case…useless, as this.

In the Advanced step, you can disable comments. Once comments are disabled, the + icon for adding comments will no longer be displayed.
The information icon displays details depending on your current settings. At the moment, there is no option to hide it automatically. As a workaround, you can hide it using custom CSS, but custom CSS is only available in the Enterprise plan.
I'll create a feature request to make this configurable and will let you know as soon as I have an update.

#1. Thank you SO much for taking my request and realizing it would be a valuable addition to Poll Unit. I mean that "info" button doesn't really do much, and should certainly be able to be turned off to keep users from getting lost in the clicks. and maybe you guys should even default it to the off position, unless the poll creator adds things to that field, which means they want the users to be able to click in for more info about that poll choice.
I just went it and unchecked the comment section, and it went away and also the info button went away. not sure if your team did that, but just letting you know how that worked.

What you observed is actually the intended behavior. The info button is only shown when there is additional information available for the participant. For example, it appears if comments are enabled, if an option has a description, or if additional attributes are visible. If none of those apply, the info button is automatically hidden.
So in your case, disabling comments removed the last available information, which is why the info button disappeared as well. That means the current behavior already covers this use case, and we probably don't need to make any changes here.
That said, I do agree that the label »Info« can be a bit misleading in this context. From a UX perspective, we'll take another look at whether the wording or presentation could be improved to better communicate what users can expect when they click it.
agree on all accounts. one thing i would say from a UI/UX is that when comments are enabled, but there is no info (description/attributed/etc) the info button shouldn't be there. as right now it just shows (i think) the time i created the poll option, or something silly like that)….so if the poll creator doesn't add any details into info that should not show by default. as the comment section goes to it's own place, no need for the info button to clutter the space when there is no info.

Yes, that is correct. It will only show the creator of the option if you allow that participant create options and the creation date. If you only allow comments and no other information is available our system still shows »Info«.
