I only tried using these things because you suggested I do so in this post. You suggested that I use the email confirmation to address the problem with submitters reporting their submission was not in the voting set. You also suggested I could use the Thank You page to explain about how the email confirmation works.
I was able to put some text in the Thank You page that doesn't look bad. I'll send a screenshot of it in an email and hope you get it this time. However, the best solution is to change the content and subject line of the confirmation email itself so participants understand how this works. You can say this in the email:
Click the Confirm button to go to a page where your submissions can be reviewed and approved.
If you add more submissions later, you will receive a new email. You can use the link in any of the emails you've received to review and approve all remaining, unconfirmed entries.
Confirming allows you to do an extra check that your entries have been successfully entered into the contest.
The word 'any' in the middle sentence should be formatted for emphasis (italicized).
Fyi, I'm learning there are some secret tricks to editing your forum posts. Is there a reference for this?
I suggested it as a way to give submitters an email they could refer back to if they were unsure whether their submission went through. It can serve that purpose, but it’s clear from your testing that the confirmation process raises more questions for your contest than it answers. So I’d withdraw that recommendation for your setup.
I appreciate your suggestions for the email. Those messages are used across many different types of PollUnit, so we need to consider changes to their wording carefully. That’s especially true of subject lines, which can affect email delivery. I’ll keep your feedback in mind as we review the text.
This time you mail got delivered. I've also find the other email. It got stuck in spam folder because you've used html markup for the placeholder in the text proposal.
Our Forum supports Markdown so you can do things like this:
# Headline 1
## Headline 2
### Headline 3
Here is some regular text with **bold formatting** and *italic formatting*.
You can also make text ***bold and italic*** or ~~strike it through~~.
> This is a quote
For a separator line use this:
---
The above is a code block. If you wrap your text in ``` at the start and end you get a code block.
Thanks for the forum tips. Is there any trick to making a numbered or bulleted list? I see you have done this.
You can create a bulleted list by using an asterisk *, a hyphen -, or a plus sign + followed by a space. For a numbered list you just need to write 1. followed by a space before your list item.
Example:
Bullet list
- List item
- List item
- List item
Numbered list
1. List item
2. List item
3. List item
