I want to end my poll at midnight... (time zone)

But I am not sure what time to set as I do not know what time your software is running with. I am in New Zealand and I would like to end the poll at midnight Sunday 20 September. Does the software automatically adjust itself to NZ time based on my time here, and so, do I have to take anything in to account when I program the poll to end?? Might sound like a silly question to you (as my earlier question re this was deleted), but to me it is not that obvious. Please help!

Hello Pete!

Our date fields take your time zone into account. If you would create a poll about dates you can also set a time zone. The default takes the time zone of the visitor.

Your last post has not been deleted, but has not yet been activated. This happens for spam reasons.

Thanks for reply! I wrote this post as my other post re the same issue suddenly disappeared after having been up for a while.
So you are saying that for me to be able to close the poll at midnight on Sunday 20 September Greenwich Mean Time I need to enter the New Zealand time that it will be at 12 midnight in London at end of Sunday 20 September? That would be 11am on 21 September. Is that the way to do it?

We started the poll one hour ago. In NZ the time is 11:53AM now. I just posted a comment on the poll and here what the poll tells me the time was: 2020-09-04 11:50 PM… That means that the Poll does NOT use GMT time (GMT time is now 12:55PM). So now I am more confused than before. As said: I want the poll to end at midnight (24:00) on Sunday 20 September GMT time. What time do I need to set when I programe in the end time??????

You might need one more programming for the user: To select what country they want the time/clock to be for?

I should have mentioned that in NZ we were already in 5 September when I posted the above post. You mentioned something about changing the time zone. Where can I do that on here??

Hi Peter,
I looked at your poll and the deadline is set to
Sun, 20 Sep 2020 23:00:00 UTC +00:00
Did you maybe set it to AM instead of PM?
What timezone are you exactly in?

I am in New Zealand. GMT time is right now 11:34PM on Saturday and here we have 10:34AM on Sunday.

Hi Peter,
I set my timezone to New Zealand and was setting a deadline and shows the same time I entered, when I open the poll.
Can you please check again?

Kind regards
Philipp

Listen. I gave up and left it like it was. Disappointing that you do no have a setting where I can pick the time zone I want to have a poll following, and then I should be able to set what time I want the poll to end in that time zone.

Or why not add a Count Down Clock to a poll so all know when the poll ends!! (Now THAT is a brilliant idea… was suggested by my youngest son!!)

Hi Pete,
we thought it is enough to set and display the timezone in the local timezone of a user.
Did this not work for you?
And if not, can you give me a hint how to reproduce this?

Kind regards
Philipp
