Categories will be one of our next features. Let me understand you correctly: in a photo contest you want to rate each picture in one category? Like multiple contests but in a single view.
Or should each picture be votable in several categories? So you could upvote the same picture for best pool and best beach?

• Each picture belongs to one category.
• For each category there is a winner.

I was referring to different categories all under 1 poll / link?
Ie. Best insect? Best vacation site? etc.

As mentioned before, the category function is not ready yet. When the function is ready, it will allow exactly what you want.

To map categories now you need a separate contest per category. You can link the others in the description of each contest.

To simplify the creation of several similar contests there is a clone function. You can find it in the context menu of the contests.

Thank you, Markus. How do Ilnk the others in the description of each contest. Is there a way to make the link in the description active (hyperlink, so that clicking on the link brings them to the next contest)? I found that when I simply added the link into the description, the voter needed to copy and paste that link in a new window to open up the next contest. Is there a way to embed the link into the description so that clicking onto the link brings them to the next contest?

In the upper right corner of our rich text editor you find the link symbol. Right now it is the second symbol from the right. Here you can create linked text parts.

I'm here to check on this category ability as well! I'm looking for a way to have users submit 2 photos to a single contest (i.e. photo & a sketch/drawing on the same topic) and then allowing voters to vote once within each category. Thank you in advance!

for now this is not possible, but you can create individual contests for each category.

Feature release: Voting categories

If you run a photo contest with PollUnit you now can add voting categories. Each uploaded image can be rated in custom categories. Winners can be chosen in each category. An overall winner can be chosen as well.

You find a checkbox »Voting categories« in the first step at the bottom when creating a photo contest. You find further infos in our voting category announcement.

With voting categories all images are votable and visible in each category.
If you want separated images per category you need to create a PollUnit per category.

Feature Release: »Submission Categories«

When creating a Video, Music, or Photo Contest, you can now add custom submission categories. These categories allow you to divide your contest into different themes or genres. Participants select a category when uploading their entries, and submissions compete only within their chosen category.

You can easily configure this in the first step when creating your contest.
